Tread Softly

“Tread Softly”, a framed floor of planks individually burned into which are carved six footprints of increasing depth. The framing presents the space as a work in its own right, but is also a place into which viewers are invited to walk, pause, reflect and leave their own footprints. To look up at the river, around the space, to read the poem and then move on. To my mind the floor unlocks the meaning and the rest of the room.
